Surf Sisters Byron Bay started from a simple idea: wanting girls to surf with.

What began as a way to make more friends in the water has grown into a supportive women’s surf community built around confidence, connection and consistency. Seeing another surfer girl wearing a Surf Sister wristband is comforting out in the water.

Today, Surf Sisters Byron Bay is more than just a surf group. It is a community for women who want to share waves, build friendships, improve their surfing, and feel part of something welcoming and inclusive. Through surf meet-ups, a WhatsApp community, events, workshops, shared surf memories and local connections, Surf Sisters Byron Bay brings women together both in and out of the water.

Our community exists to make surfing feel less lonely, less intimidating and more supported. Whether you’re is looking for new surf friends, more confidence in the lineup, or simply a sense of belonging around like-minded women, the community is built to help you find that. We welcome women across ages and abilities.
